Arch Between Two Buildings

This image was taken downtown Hartford. The arch between the two buildings is what had prompted me to take this photo.
As a kid I would often visit downtown with my mom. Later as a teenager my friends and I would catch the transit downtown Hartford everyday after school and walk alongside these buildings and the XL Center (Civic Center) located across the street from this photo. It has been years since I have actually taken the time to relive the downtown experience. The images I have taken are sentimental in a since where they allow me to reminisce on my earlier years. Many of these buildings were around way before I was born and some of them were built after. I love the fact that I was able to capture all things that has changed over the years, while also enjoying capturing the images of what has remained the same.

  1. Beautiful Kendra

I see that in the arch area it has colors, did you use tint to focus it?

  3. Hi Jackie (Jacqueline)I have the same middle name...To answer you question, I did not use tent to focus this photo. I went into Piasca and cropped it. Then I went into effects and tuning and played around with it, until I was able to capture the image I wanted.

  5. The crop strengthens the composition... I am pleased that you played with the editing tools to make the image speak more to your vision.
