These are my two children Corynne & Christian. I sat them by the front door where the sunlight was shining in. I used a mirror to try and reflect the sunlight onto the other side of their faces to even out the light. I also used shadowing and fill light to try and balance the sunlight on their faces. I felt the black and white effect gave the portrait depth and definition.
Good choices... Direct sunlight is always too strong for this assignment but it didn't hit their faces directly... see how your son's shirt is blown out though?
ReplyDeleteAnother suggestion would be to get in even closer and frame the face more tightly.
